Saturday: Torah Study and Shabbat Service (Multi-access) Saturday, November 30, 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Our Saturday worship experience begins with Torah study, which goes from 9:00–9:45 a.m. This will be followed by services beginning at 10:00 a.m. (online and in person). At the conclusion of the service, the community is invited to join us in the social hall for a potluck pescatarian kiddush luncheon!
Judaica Shop Hanukkah Pop-Up Shop Sunday, December 8, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Join us in the social hall for this special Judaica Shop pop-up event! Shop with us for gelt, gifts, wrapping paper, dreidels, décor, hanukkiyot, and more! We also have Hanukkah merchandise in the shop through the end of December, with new merchandise added each week.
Building Committee Meeting and Walkthrough Sunday, December 8, 12:00 p.m. The TBE Building Committee is looking for new members and invites you to this special kickoff meeting! Have you ever wondered about our premises' nooks and crannies? You'll get a chance to see them all on our walkthrough of the building. We are gearing up to create a long-term plan for capital improvements, and we need you! Sisterhood Latke Bake Sunday, December 15, 12:30 p.m. Sisterhood members—why have your house smell like latkes for days when you can join together for a latke bake in the temple kitchen? Sisterhood will provide the ingredients! If you have a food processor, please bring it. Temple Beth El Board Meeting Tuesday, December 17, 6:30 p.m. The Temple Beth El Board of Trustees welcomes all members to attend the monthly board meeting. The agenda will be emailed to all TBE members prior to the meeting. The meeting is multi-access and a Zoom link will be emailed to all members before the meeting begins as well.
Sisterhood Focaccia Art Class Sunday, December 22, 10:30 a.m. Take a break from holiday preparation to relax and be creative! Focaccia art involves cutting and placing herbs and vegetables to make a design on the flat top of the uncooked focaccia bread. While it's baking, we'll have time to sit and schmooze. Please bring a snack to share for that time. Take your bread home or donate it to the temple for future Shabbat noshes. This event is free and open to all female-identifying temple members. Latkepalooza! Tuesday, December 24, 8:00–11:00 p.m. Join Jconnect Seattle for a joyous and bright pre-Hanukkah party. With a latke bar, DJ, and a bar with alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available, it's the place for Jewish 20-30 somethings to be for the night! Everyone is invited to get dressed in their finest; black tie is optional, you can also wear your most fun and festive Hanukkah apparel. The first four TBE community members who want to go will get in for free—otherwise, tickets are $25 per person through December 16 and ticket prices will increase to $36 the next day. Community Hanukkah Dinner and Menorah Lighting Friday, December 27, 5:00 p.m. Oh, Hanukkah! Light the hanukkiyah, spin the dreidel, and celebrate the festival of lights! Please join us for our Community Hanukkah Dinner and Menorah Lighting hosted by our very own Beth El Temple Youth. The menu includes latkes (graciously provided by Sisterhood) and a topping bar. This event is free to attend. Donations made for this event will go directly towards Beth El Temple Youth activities and programming. Please RSVP on our website by December 23. Help from the Hebrew Free Loan Association If you have been impacted by the storm and need help restocking food for Thanksgiving, paying insurance deductibles, purchasing generators, or need help regarding any other damage, HFLA will help you! Free Thanksgiving Meal Options The Tacoma Police Department is supporting three locations that are providing free meals on Thanksgiving day. If you need more information, use the contact listed next to your event of choice rather than reaching out to the police department. You can find that info along with locations and times below. Jewish Summer Camp Scholarships Summer is still far off, but summer camp sessions at Camp Kalsman are Camp Solomon Schecter are already filling up. Scholarships are available through TBE and the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle to help cover the cost of camp, which can be quite expensive. There are also One Happy Camper grants of up to $1,000 available to first-time campers. The Scholarship Committee is thankful for the support of our community in providing children with these opportunities. Families interested in summer camp scholarships should submit applications to TBE and JFGS.
JFGS Application: www.jewishinseattle.org/camp-scholarships/ Bubbe Buddies We are looking for enthusiastic and caring TBE members to join our popular Bubbe Buddies program, now expanded to include zeydes too! You will have the wonderful opportunity to engage with our preschoolers by reading Jewish stories to them. Imagine yourself seated in a special chair, sharing a beloved Jewish story with a little one who will be holding a cherished Bubbe Buddy stuffed bear. All the books will be available at Temple — just bring yourself and your love for storytelling! The program takes place every Sunday at 11:00 a.m. and is slot-based (pick a Sunday that works for you). Interested? Email Stacy at nslappin@yahoo.com.

Judaica Shop Hours The Judaica shop is open! Our regular hours are as follows:
Sundays: 9:45 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Wednesdays: 4:30–6:30 p.m.
Fridays: 5:30–6:15 p.m.
We are still in need of volunteers to ensure the shop can always be open during regular hours. Please email Connie Person and Aubrey Sagalovich at judaica@tbetacoma.org to volunteer or to schedule a shopping appointment outside of our regular hours. We look forward to seeing you soon at the shop!
