What's happening at TBE?
Friday: Erev Shabbat Service (Multi-access) Friday, August 2, 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to join us online or in person for an Erev Shabbat service. Join us at 5:45 p.m., before the service, for an oneg sponsored by the Mullins-Poling family in honor of the bat mitzvah of Azrielle Poling.

Saturday: Torah Study, Shabbat Service and Bat Mitzvah of Azrielle Poling (Multi-access) Saturday, August 3, 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Our Saturday worship experience begins with Torah study from 9:00–9:45 a.m. This will be followed by services and the bat mitzvah of Azrielle Poling, beginning at 10:00 a.m. (online and in person). At the conclusion of the service, the community is invited to join the family in the social hall for a kiddush luncheon!
Paint Tacoma Beautiful Monday, August 12 Join Rabbi Gorban and interfaith partners on August 12 to Paint Tacoma Beautiful. We’ll build relationships with each other across faiths while helping a low-income, elderly, or disabled homeowner spruce up their house. Religious School Picnic at Point Defiance Saturday, August 10, 1:00–3:00 p.m. Join your Temple Beth El Religious Education program at Point Defiance Park along the breathtaking Tacoma waterfront. Home of Peace Genizah Opening and Annual Cemetery Cleanup Sunday, August 11, 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. The Home of Peace Cemetery Association invites the community to participate in our annual clean-up day. Ape Caves with TBE Thursday, August 22, 9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Explore a chilly, pitch-black lava tube over two miles long at the Ape Caves at Skamania. The 3/4 mile, one-way lower cave route is relatively family friendly. Timeline:
9:00 a.m. Depart from TBE parking lot
1:00 p.m. Reservation time for entry to Ape Caves
2:00 p.m. Lunch at the park on-site

BBQ Bash Volunteers Needed The annual community BBQ is coming up on Sunday, August 25, and we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mady Plumer at membership@tbetacoma.org. If you are planning to attend the event, we ask that you RSVP here so we know how much food to buy.
Volunteers Needed for High Holy Day Mailing We are seeking a few volunteers to help prepare the High Holy Day informational booklet to be mailed on August 23 from 1:00–2:30 p.m. This will include sorting, labeling, and bundling the booklets as well as dropping them off at the post office. Please contact Teddy at frontdesk@tbetacoma.org to let us know you'll be there to help!
Volunteers Needed for Oneg Setup & Cleanup Please sign up to volunteer for oneg setup, cleanup, or both! Note that you must have a food handler's license in order to prepare food during setup. TBE will reimburse you for the cost of the license ($10), and the training can be done online here. Sign up for setup or cleanup here!
Shir Simcha Choir Rehearsals are beginning, and you're invited! In preparation for High Holy Days, the Shir Simcha Choir will start meeting on Wednesday, August 21 from 7:15–8:30 p.m. All are welcome.
