Havdalah (Zoom)
Saturday, March 26, 7:30 p.m.

Please
celebrate Zoom Havdalah here.
Zoom Meeting ID: 320 3406 647.

What will I need?
Just yourself! However, if you would like to participate in blessings at home, Havdalah blessings are said over wine, besamim (fragrant spices), and a braided Havdalah candle.

What if I don't have those things?
If you don't have a Havdalah candle at home, you can use two candles (or even two matches) joining the flames as the blessing is recited. And if you do not have wine, it can be substituted with something you might use to celebrate or offer to a guest, perhaps coffee or tea. And, most importantly, if you don't have any of these things, just come to say blessings and be together. You can find the
Havdalah blessings here.

Opportunities

Provide help and assistance to Ukraine
You can respond to the crisis in Ukraine by supporting the special appeal of the Tacoma Jewish Community Fund, working with the Jewish Federation of North America and affiliated agencies. Ukraine’s estimated 200,000 Jews rely on the strong support of the Federation that is today serving as a lifeline for the community. Special Appeal Funds will be allocated through the Jewish Federations’ core partners: The Jewish Agency for Israel, The Joint Distribution Committee and World ORT, and others on the ground in Ukraine. This emergency funding will focus on helping people make Aliyah to Israel; securing local community institutions; maintaining welfare services; assisting internally displaced people; securing temporary housing; maintaining communications; and securing Jewish schools and training staff to manage crisis needs.

To contribute and support this appeal, please send your donation, noted for Ukraine Special Appeal, to: Tacoma Jewish Community Fund, P.O. Box 64831, University Place, WA 98464, or call Judith Florence at (253) 752-3621 for more information about making a donation.
