WHY JOIN SISTERHOOD?

On a personal level, for decades, Sisterhood of Temple Beth El in Tacoma has been a group of women who have formed lifelong bonds by empowering ourselves to run a Jewish organization, not just a committee of the Board of Temple Beth El. 

On a local level, we are dedicated to the education and enhancement of Temple Beth El families. We bring people together to form a community and provide ways for adults and youth to connect more to Judaism and its tenets. 

On a larger scale, we are a branch of Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) that strengthens the voice of women worldwide, empowers caring communities, nurtures congregations, cultivates personal and spiritual growth, and advocates for and promotes progressive Jewish values. You do not need to be a member of Temple Beth El to join our Sisterhood.

Membership Year: July 1, 2024–June30, 2025
 

What does my membership contribution go toward? From your contribution, $18 goes to Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ). Any additional funds over the base amount will go into the general Sisterhood coffer to provide funds for upcoming Sisterhood leadership development opportunities, programs, events, and philanthropic actions. 
 

• We are continuing to offer a sliding scale membership to ensure every female-identified person who supports Judaism is welcome—our suggested scale is $36–$144.
• If you join Temple Beth El between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2025, your first year of Sisterhood membership is on us!
